After a decade working on set, I finally gave up 'working in the industry.' From long hours without overtime, crazy distances driving late at night after wrap, and unemployment hiatuses, I had enough. Surely the dreaded 9-5 was better than this, and heck, maybe I would finally have healthcare. But after over 2 years of applying for 'normal' things online, and networking the best I knew how, I had no leads. I paid for a Career Coach, Website Coach, and Premium job boards...loosing thousands in the process. Then I adjusted my plan to fit the way we work Production: Development, Pitching, PrePro, Production and Post -- and it worked. All the skills were transferable, they just had to be 'translated.'
